Tawus Annamyradova

Tawus Annamyradova, a well-known singer in her native Turkmenistan, rounds out the roster of “bardic divas” from historically nomadic cultures in Central Eurasia. Annamyradova comes from a distinguished family of musicians and specialises in performing the songs of bakhshis—bardic singers, entertainers, and storytellers who were traditionally believed to possess shamanic powers.
