The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) has been active in the United Kingdom since the Aga Khan Foundation (UK) was established in 1973.  Over the last four decades, the Foundation and other AKDN agencies, in particular the Aga Khan University, have enjoyed fruitful partnerships with the government, various universities and other institutions in the country.  A number of cultural events have been staged at UK venues, including Spirit & Life, an exhibition of rare Islamic art and manuscripts from the Aga Khan Museum collections, which ran at the Ismaili Centre, South Kensington, London.
