The campus of each Aga Khan Academy is architect designed and purpose built, and features exceptional facilities for all aspects of student life. Each campus is designed by renowned architects and is tailored both to meet the needs of the school and to maximise the potential of the site.
Campus Design
The design process for an Academy campus takes into account best practices in facility design. This includes construction techniques that allow spaces to be used for multiple purposes and classroom environments that are conducive to interactive learning. The campus landscape is also vital to the educational programme and is designed to facilitate experiential learning and reflection, allowing intangible yet important aspects of education to happen outside the classroom. Architects with experience in school planning are selected to design each new Academy, ensuring that the design is culturally sensitive and draws from local heritage and architectural traditions. The campuses feature state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, resource centres, extensive sports facilities, dedicated arts and music spaces, technology infrastructure, student residences and dining areas.
