AKDN partners with the Paris Peace Forum
During the second Paris Peace Forum, which took place on 11-13 November 2019, an agenda of 80+ debates covered the major challenges facing today’s world. Highlights included a session on “Surviving Climate Wrath: Building Resilient Infrastructure in an Age of Global Warming” moderated by Onno Rühl, General Manager of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat. Winners of the 2019 Global Pluralism Award spoke about their experiences, and AKF CEO Najmuddin Najm remarked that one of the most important lessons learnt is how “we need to be closer to people” – making sure that local communities are aware that they own the concepts of development.
