In 2006, the Nation Media Group launched NTV to provide high quality television programming to the Ugandan audience. Founded by His Highness the Aga Khan in 1960, the Group has its origins in Kenya’s Taifa and Nation newspapers, which were set up to provide independent voices during the years just preceding the country’s independence.

By institutional development, I mean the strengthening and refocusing of existing institutions, as well as the creation of new institutions and policies to support them.
