Serena caring for the environment
“Some people say there is nothing that can be done to reduce climate change. But Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge in Tsavo West National Park shows there is.” That is how a film dedicated to Kenya’s first solar-powered safari lodge begins.
In addition to Serena’s efforts in solar power, the film explores the hotel chain’s efforts to construct its properties in an environmentally friendly manner. Over the last 18 years, it has planted nearly 7 million trees and removed 2.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the environment – which shows that good stewardship of the earth is an integral part of the ethical framework of the Aga Khan Development Network.
