With indoor venues such as malls, cinema halls and restaurants losing their usual allure due to the possibility of transmissions, Sunder Nursery has been a breath of fresh air for Delhi residents. It reopened in 2018 after a decade of conservation by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC). Mr Ratish Nanda, AKTC India CEO, said conservation included restoring a lotus pond and reviving green spaces by planting grass and different varieties of trees. There are also 20 Mughal-era structures, out of which six monuments are classified as part of the Humayun Tomb complex. A 17th-century Mughal water tank was found during a ground-penetrating radar survey. Half a dozen wells were dredged and are now part of the nursery's water supply.
