A look at the projects of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in Pakistan, from Lahore in the Punjab to Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan, including some of the 150 landmark buildings and monuments that have been revitalised – and garnered 14 UNESCO heritage awards in the process.  Each project aims to be a stimulus for economic and social development, both in the short term through employment and in the long-term by using the buildings for other economic activity. For example, over 5 million visitors (and growing) have come to Lahore Fort.  Over 500 people have been trained in enterprise development, including 200 women.  Over 1200 girls have gone through training schemes in Shigar.  Many others have learned carpentry, masonry, and traditional construction techniques.
