AKDN Digital Health Resource Centre

The Aga Khan Development Network Digital Health Resource Centre (AKDN dHRC) provides strategic digital health support to the AKDN health agencies and partner health institutions with managing their digital health operations.

AKDN dHRC believes that everyone should have access to safe, high-quality, low-cost and equitable health care services. AKDN dHRC's digital health activities in low- and middle-income countries such as Afghanistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan and Tajikistan in Asia and Kenya and Tanzania in Africa make health care easily accessible to communities with reduced access, build the professional capacity of health care providers and strengthen health systems.

AKDN dHRC supports the AKDN Digital Health Programme in South and Central Asia and East Africa. The Programme provides teleconsultations to patients and eLearning services to healthcare providers through a hub and spoke model that connects service-receiving facilities with service-providing facilities via ICT. Over the years, the Programme has created a robust network of these health care facilities designed to provide dHealth services.

AKDN dHRC collaborates with national and international partners to develop high-impact, low-cost health products and applications that address health problems in the developing world. Collaborations also focus on bringing about behavior change, improving the quality of care, making health care delivery more efficient and more patient-centered.

AKDN dHRC established an Innovation Lab where it ideates, develops and tests high-impact, low-cost, innovative health care products.
