PM lays foundation of IT park in Hunza

In Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation of Hunza’s first Information Technology (IT) Park by unveiling the plaque at a ceremony held in Chinarbagh, Gilgit. Established jointly by Special Communications Organisation and the Aga Khan Foundation, Pakistan, the IT park will provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure with uninterrupted power supply, high speed internet facility and a co-working space for small and growing businesses, start-ups, freelancers, and chamber of commerce.

 

 

Pakistan’s first doctorate in nursing awarded to AKU fellow

Pakistan’s first-ever doctorate in nursing has been awarded by the Aga Khan University (AKU)’s School of Nursing and Midwifery to Khairulnissa Ajani. As part of her PhD, Ms Ajani conducted research into hypertension or high blood pressure – a condition that affects one in every three adults in Pakistan. Ms Ajani currently serves as assistant dean of teaching, learning and undergraduate programmes at the AKU school. The AKU school is the first nursing institution in Pakistan to have launched bachelor’s, master’s and PhD qualifications in nursing.

Prime Minister Imran Khan lays the foundation for Hunza’s first IT Park

Gilgit, Pakistan, 30 April 2021 - Prime Minister Imran Khan today unveiled a plaque to lay the foundation of Hunza’s first Information Technology Park located in Nasirabad, Hunza. Established jointly by Special Communications Organization of the Government of Pakistan and the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan, the IT Park in Hunza will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure with un-interrupted power supply, high-speed internet facility and a co-working space for small and growing businesses, start-ups, freelancers, and chamber of commerce.

Aswan Chamber of Commerce participates to a meeting at the Om Habibeh Foundation

In Egypt, the Om Habibeh Foundation organised a meeting for the Business Owners Advisory Committee, within the framework of the Aswan Youth Skills Development Programme, which works in cooperation with the Aga Khan Foundation, to enhance employment prospects and enrol young men and women in the Aswan governorate into the labour market, and to develop job skills among workers in various sectors. Experiences and points of view were exchanged among all participants to identify the basic needs of the labour market in the governorate, including the training provided to young people in most disciplines and fields.
