Habib Bank Ltd (HBL) declared a consolidated profit of Rs14.5 billion for Q1, 2021, doubling it from the same period last year. Muhammad Aurangzeb, President and CEO of HBL, said on the bank's performance: "The bank’s growth momentum continues in the new year with all activity drivers showing an upward trajectory." HBL had extended its "international footprint" and became the first Pakistani bank to open a branch in Beijing. HBL Beijing has become HBL’s second branch and its managing branch in China. The bank also supports the government's vision of providing affordable housing units to underserved segments of society.

Parwaaz, HBL and Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP) signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) to develop a skilling programme for Parwaaz’s financial services incubator. The incubator will equip current and aspiring bankers with the skills to become cyber security specialists. This tripartite partnership is a crucial step in closing the national skills gap. The Parwaaz platform will fund the development of the training programme. HBL will lead the identification of banking professionals who are apt for this training and will also offer job placements to selected graduates. IBP will select cyber security subject experts and develop course curriculum with support from HBL. Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, President & CEO – HBL and Co-chair of Parwaaz, said: "HBL is committed to Pakistan’s economic growth and social uplift. Through this partnership, HBL will help develop and execute a robust training programme for the participants in the field of cyber security while creating further employment opportunities in Pakistan."
During a recent conference on Sustainable Rice Finance in Karachi, Adnan Pasha Siddiqui, Chief of staff of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) discussed economic and strategic benefits of successful global rice trade and the role Pakistan’s agriculture and finance sector could play. The bank official shared HBL's interest and plans for sustainable development finance in food crops, especially rice. The event aimed to promote involvement of the private sector finance to expand and grow rice agriculture and trade.
In Pakistan, a six-month income support programme installment of Rs12,000 for poor women will be released today, 12 April. Habib Bank Limited (HBL) through its 300 agents will pay a scholarship amount to 242,943 women of the division apart from 10% additional women from several districts. Facility and security arrangements are made for women coming to Ehsaas Kafalat Centres with the cooperation of divisional and district administrations.

Habib Bank Limited (HBL) has partnered with Hysab Kytab to launch the first comprehensive personal finance manager (PFM) solution, offered for the first time by any bank in Pakistan. Hysab Kytab’s PFM (budgeting) tool is integrated into HBL Mobile and will enable app users to take control of their financial well-being. HBL’s chief digital, innovation and financial inclusion officer, Abrar Mir, said: "This partnership with Hysab Kytab is a pivotal step in providing our mobile banking users with a holistic view of their finances, and will empower them to make sound financial decisions."
Sheraton Kampala Hotel has partnered with Nation Media Group (NMG) Uganda to hold the first Easter baking competition dubbed the Easter Bake-Off for children aged between 7-15 years. The competition is set to take place on Easter Sunday (4 April).
